Backyard refuge

Welcome to the Hobby and the Wild Birds Unlimited Family!

Whether you have been feeding the birds for years or you are new to the hobby, the 12 Elements of a Thoughtful Bird Feeding Station will help you identify exactly which food and feeder combinations are most likely to bring in daily, seasonal, and rare birds. You will be thoughtful about where to place your feeders, how to create an inviting and safe environment for the birds, and how to solve basic problems.

Creating a Welcoming Home for Your Backyard Birds

To create a welcoming home for your backyard birds to attract them to your yard; there are four simple things to provide:

  •  Fresh nutritious bird seed and bird foods that your birds will love.

  • A source of water - keep your bird bath clean and filled with fresh water.

  • Shelter and cover to escape predators and bad weather.....your trees and shrubs are great for this.

  • A place to raise their babies - bird houses.

When setting up your yard there are a few common questions you should ask to maximize your habitat.

  •   What kind of environment do you have?

  •   What birds are you looking to attract?

  •   Where will you have the most visibility for your enjoyment?

  •   Do you have a large population of squirrels in your yard?

We can help you provide all these things and more to enjoy nature in your own backyard :)
