Not everything goes to sleep at night! Join us for a walk at dusk to spot all kinds of night-time creatures, hopefully even owls, bats, spiders, moths and more. Our focus is on animal identification: during the walk, you will learn how to observe and identify the species of any native critter using the free tools accessible on any smartphone. Bring a flashlight and an extra layer in case it gets chilly.
Please meet at the Leawood North Field parking lot.
Attendees will receive a special offer!

There is something undeniably alluring about owls. Maybe it's their mystique, maybe it's their nocturnal habits, maybe it's because they are too cool! Discover that allure with the birds of prey from Operation Wildlife. See owls up close, meet & chat with their handlers, and have fun.
Enter to win an Owl Mug and Owl Tote Bag!
This event is free; donations will be accepted on behalf of Operation Wildlife.

Drop-in the shop and craft your own natural birdfeeder! Make a Bark Butter Pinecone and decorate with your choice of birdseed. Discover which birdseed is best to attract different types of winter birds. All supplies will be provided, one per person. This event is free and open to all ages. Enter to win a small tub of Bark Butter and a Bark Butter Feeder!

Binoculars seem simple, but when you take a closer look, you may find yourself overwhelmed by all of the technicalities and specs. Join us for an all-things-optics break down: How to understand, select, customize and use your binoculars to watch birds. Customers will be able to get hands-on with binoculars of different power and brand, will learn how to pick the perfect pair of optics for them or how to optimize the optics they already have, and will learn the basics of finding and identifying birds using optics. Customers are welcome to bring their optics from home if they want to optimize them or compare them with more modern options.
Guests can enter to win a FeatherPro Hanging Tray Feeder with a 2lb bag of No Mess birdseed blend along with a Birding101 Pocket Guide!
